Ambulances should leave earlier
A new advice from the organization Ambulancezorg Nederland says that ambulances in The Netherlands should leave earlier after receiving an emergency call. When ambulances leave immediately after they’ve received a call, they will arrive on average one and a half minute earlier at the place of the emergency. Nowadays an ambulance is only sent out if it is really clear that it is about an extreme emergency.
A trial started two years ago in and around Leiden. It is really proven that lives are saved when an ambulance leaves immediately. In the Northern of The Netherlands this new concept is introduced last Monday. “And it seems to be going very well,” says Myrthe Moss, Head of Ambulancezorg Nederland.
